About Me

I came to the UK with a certain amount of naive idealism in 2002, did alright for a while, but then in May 2007 my various physical and mental health problems flared up together and incapacitated me. I've been out of paid work ever since, and reliant on state handouts.

150 years ago my whole family were English. Now I'm just another foreigner coming over here... I live with a group of middle aged English bachelors (MAEB), which I'm not sure I can begin to describe.

This blog is a record of the experience: the battles, the disappointments and victories, the blundering officials and red-tape, the contrary culture, the day to day struggle.
